Blow New Life into Old Content
Why you should never give up on content that looks dead
In Greenlights, Matthew McConaughey tells how one day, he and his dad got back to their trailer and couldn’t find their little birdie.
That was a strange thing because it was usually constantly chirping.
They looked everywhere but found nothing.
Finally, his dad found it in the toilet.
Floating.
He couldn’t believe it, and he wouldn’t accept it.
He lifted the little birdie out of the toilet and started reanimating it by putting its beak in his mouth and slowly blowing air through its nostrils.
That reminded me of something I experienced about ten years ago.
We had a new pond with about a dozen koi fish.
Something in the water disturbed them, and two jumped out. We found one between the plants and another one on the pavement. They must’ve been there for at least 15 minutes, suffering.
The one between the plants was dead, the other one dehydrated and barely alive.
We put him in the water as quickly as possible but no movement.
